Soak urad dal for 8 hours.
Soak almonds and peel their skin.
In a pressure cooker, add urad dal, almonds, turmeric powder, salt, and water.
Close the cooker and cook for 4 whistles.
Let the pressure release naturally.
Open the cooker and add milk.
Turn on the gas and cook for 2 minutes.
Add salt, mix well, and turn off the gas.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
Add onion and sauté until soft.
Add tomato and salt, and cook until the tomatoes soften.
Add red chili powder and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the dal to the pan and mix well.
Cook for 1 minute and serve hot.
