Soak navy beans overnight.
Drain beans and place them into a covered earthenware pan.
Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
Cut the Canadian back bacon into 3 pieces.
Add bacon, dry mustard, chopped onion, minced garlic, ketchup, tomato paste, molasses, maple syrup, hot water, salt, and pepper to the beans.
