Pour beer into the skillet with the onions.

Turn brats and onions frequently, adding a little oil if the pan needs it to prevent sticking.
Remove the onions when they turn golden brown.
Plate the browned brats.
Wrap the hot dog buns in paper towels and microwave on high for about 30 seconds until soft and warm.
Serve brats in buns with mustard, baked beans, and/or chips.
