Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
Rinse the rice thoroughly.
Add the rinsed rice to the sauce in the pot on the hob.
Stir the rice as you add it to the sauce.
Add enough water to cover the rice, ensuring the consistency is almost dry and not swampy.
Cook the rice on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning and distribute heat evenly.
The dish is cooked when all the sauce is absorbed and the rice is nearly dry.
The rice should feel very soft when cooked.
Serve the Ghanaian Jollof Rice with your favorite salads.
