Mix the almonds, pistachios, raisins, and desiccated coconut into the saucepan and combine well. Set aside to cool slightly.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
Grease a square baking dish and line it with torn puff pastry pieces.
Bake for 18 minutes, or until the puff pastry is puffed up.
Pour the warm milk, condensed milk, sugar, desiccated coconut, and nut mixture over the baked puff pastry.
Let the mixture soak well into the pastry.
In a separate bowl, mix the cream, remaining condensed milk, saffron strands, and sugar.
Pour this cream mixture over the puff pastry and milk mixture.
Garnish with the remaining nuts and saffron strands.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Check frequently to avoid burning.
Scoop portions of the Umm Ali into serving bowls while still warm.
Serve as a dessert after a meal.
