Place the whole red pepper on the griddle or in a separate pan over low heat.
Carefully watch the red pepper, turning when each side is approximately 30% blackened on the skin.

In a large bowl, combine shredded lettuce, crushed Doritos, shredded cheese, dressing, salsa, sliced chicken, and pepper strips.
Mix all ingredients well.
Serve immediately as a salad, or fold the mixture into warmed tortillas for wraps.
