Combine cream of mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix in a bowl.
Grease a casserole dish.
Place the beef roast in the greased casserole dish.
Spread the soup mixture evenly over the top of the roast.
Cover the dish tightly with foil.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove foil and turn the roast over.
Baste the roast with the pan juices.
Cover the dish again with foil.
Return to the oven and bake for another 1 1/2 hours, or until the roast is very tender and falling apart.
