Crush corn flakes until you have about 3/4 cup.
Place the crushed corn flakes in a large mixing bowl.
Add the egg, 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Add the ground beef to the mixture.
Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Shape the mixture into 6 oval patties, each about 3/4 inch thick.
Place the patties on a lightly greased or foil-lined baking pan.
Brush the tops of the patties with the remaining barbecue sauce.
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 20 minutes, or until cooked to your preferred level of doneness.
Do not turn the patties while baking.
