thawed but still cold
flour
for rolling
egg
beaten
sesame seeds

poppy seeds

Combine two rolls and roll into a 12-inch rope.
Roll rope in flour to prevent sticking.
Tie each rope into an overhand knot.
Bring one end of the dough over the top and tuck down into the middle of the knot.
Bring the other end of the dough through the center, going the opposite way, to form the Kaiser roll shape.
Place the formed rolls on a large baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
If desired, brush the tops of the rolls with beaten egg to give them a golden color.
Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds for added flavor and texture, if desired.
Cover the baking sheet with sprayed plastic wrap to prevent the dough from drying out.
Let the rolls rise in a warm place until they have doubled in size, approximately 30 minutes.
Remove the plastic wrap carefully.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350F (175C) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
