Rub the rim of 2 margarita glasses with lime and roll in coarse sugar if desired.
Fill a shaker with ice.
Add Amaretto, Triple Sec, Tequila, and sweet and sour mix to the shaker.
Shake well.
Pour into margarita glasses.
Garnish with lime.
Optionally, add a floater of Chambord raspberry liquor, Grand Marnier, or Cointreau liqueur by slowly pouring it on top of the margarita.
