Dissolve borax in distilled water in a glass measuring cup.

Heat the oil-beeswax mixture in the water bath over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the beeswax is completely melted (approximately 10 minutes).
Bring the borax-water mixture almost to a boil using a microwave (HIGH for 1 minute) or a water bath on the stovetop.
Remove the oil-beeswax mixture from the water bath.
Slowly add the borax-water mixture to the oil-beeswax mixture while stirring briskly to emulsify.
Alternatively, use a blender to whip the mixture to emulsify.
Allow the lotion to cool completely.
Once cooled, stir in almond extract (optional) for added fragrance.
Note: The lotion will thicken as it cools.
Pour the finished lotion into a clean container with a lid for storage.
